Make Organic Ice Cream With Your Blender
Aug 16th, 2010 by Luis
One of the least known features of a speed blender is that it can make ice cream in a jiffy! Sure you can always go out and buy ice cream in a variety of flavors but did you know that a lot of ice creams that are sold in super markets around the world today are actually made out of processed and frozen vegetable oil! As incredulous as it may sound, it is true. Many ice cream companies were taken to task for this very transgression and their response to it?
They stopped calling their ice creams ‘ice cream’ and have instead started using the term ‘frozen dessert’ instead. I’ll risk sounding like someone form the tea party movement on Fox to say that if that isn’t a crime against our children and out nation, then I don’t know what is.
While I’ve shot off more than one letter to my representative of government, to tell you the truth, I don’t see much happening in the way of this one for a while with the government focusing on the situation in Afghanistan and the current economic slow down. Talking about focus, where is mine? Back to telling you how to make ice cream with your blender.
I use a Vita Mix 1300 TurboBlend 4500 to make sure that my ice cream turns out amazing but pretty much any blender made in this century is going to do. Just blend in all the ingredients that you plan on using (bits of chocolate, fruit and maybe some nougat) with the ice and milk (you can also use a condensed milk concentrate like MilkMaid) to add some more thickness to the mix.
Blend with the ice until the mixture is of creamy consistency and then once you’re done with the whole thing then you can stick it in the freezer to let it cool off – plonk the ice cream in bowls and serve your children the healthiest ice cream that they’ve ever had!
